
Michael Pierce, Esq
Director of Public Relations, Legal Practices, Compliance and Ethics
Michael is an associate in O’Hagan Meyer’s Richmond and Norfolk offices.
His practice focuses on labor and employment law and commercial litigation. Michael regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout Virginia, representing the interests of large entities, regional corporations, small businesses, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, and community organizations.
Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, Michael completed a judicial clerkship with the Newport News Circuit Court. He also practiced law for 5 years at midsized law firm based in Downtown Norfolk. Michael is also a former adjunct professor for Hampton University.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and their five exceptional children. Mike is an associate in O’Hagan Meyer’s Richmond and Norfolk offices. His practice
includes matters involving labor and employment law and commercial litigation. Mike
regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout Virginia, representing the
interests of large entities, regional corporations, small businesses, non-profit
organizations, entrepreneurs, and community organizations. He has experience
counseling and advising clients in the realms of employee terminations, wage and hour
dilemmas, non-compete agreements, workplace violence scenarios, independent
contractor agreements, and worker misclassification and payroll fraud.
Mike also develops and facilitates presentations on a wide range of topics both for
commercial clients and business owners as well as for attorneys and other members of
the legal profession. His areas of interest include workplace harassment and
discrimination, diversity and inclusion, and attorney mental health and wellness.
Whether directing boardroom discussions on how to create more inclusive workplace or
giving speeches on behalf of distinguished jurists, Mike uses his voice to enhance the
business community.
Mike is a former adjunct professor for Hampton University and a former public-school
teacher. Prior to joining the firm, he completed a judicial clerkship with the Newport
News Circuit Court where he performed extensive legal research and writing for the
Honorable David F. Pugh, the Honorable Timothy S. Fisher, and the Honorable Gary A.
Mills. Mike also had the privilege of completing summer clerkships for two federal
district court judges: The Honorable Raymond A. Jackson and the Honorable Henry E.
Hudson. Mike’s extensive experience with federal and state court judges enhanced his
understanding of the litigation process. Ultimately, these skills empower him to
successfully advocate for clients both in and out of court.
